Which one suits you
If it is your first time on the lagoon
Take the share tour or the full day private charter. Both cover four islands and two snorkelling stops, and both include lunch. The share tour is the better value if you do not mind other guests aboard. The full day charter is the one to pick if you want the boat to run at your pace.
If you are short on time
The half day private charter runs three hours, either 9am to 12pm or 1pm to 4pm. It covers two islands, Akaiami and One Foot Island, and two snorkelling stops. You can add an extra hour on the water when you book.
If you want to fish
The four hour fishing charter uses spear, patia and rod, and your catch is smoked or grilled on the hot rocks for lunch. Spear gun, rod, fins and mask are all provided.
If you only want the ride
The water taxi drops you at One Foot Island or Honeymoon Island and collects you when you are ready. It is transport only, so bring your own food and water. Equipment hire is available at ten dollars an item.
Things worth knowing before you pick
- Private charters and fishing charters carry up to five guests. The charter price covers two, and each extra adult is charged per head.
- Children aged 6 to 11 are fifty dollars on tours and charters. Under fives are free on tours and charters.
- An extra hour on a private charter is two hundred dollars for two guests.
- A Honeymoon Island stop can be added to a private charter for one hundred and fifty dollars for two, then fifty dollars per extra guest.
- Cold cans are available on the boat for five dollars each. Just ask the crew.
- Tours run Sunday to Friday. The Honeymoon Island water taxi runs Monday to Friday.
What to bring
Reef shoes, a hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and a towel. Bring a life jacket for any child under three. The full day charter already includes towels, sunscreen and repellent, so you can travel light on that one.
